Entry Requirements |
A placement
test will be conducted to ensure you are studying at
the correct level. Post-elementary students would normally
have completed Survival Chinese Level 2 or around 60
hours of Chinese study. |
Course Description |
The course uses
an approach where spoken Chinese and Chinese character
writing are taught separately. Teaching materials will
mainly use Chinese pinyin and characters will be used
only as a supplementary tool. Learners will decide for
themselves whether to learn them or not. Main focus
is on improving speaking and listening. Each text centers
on a topic useful for daily communication. The new grammar
is presented in interesting and lively context, which
enables students to understand it fully and use it fluently.
Students are acquainted with various ways of memorizing
new lexical items such as: making vocabulary networks,
arranging words in collocations, in pairs of synonyms
and antonyms, word families.
