Course Description |
Essential vocabulary
and phrases necessary for day-to-day life in China are
the primary learning goals. The Chinese phonetic transcription
system (pinyin) will be used throughout the course.
Basic information concerning Chinese grammar and characters
will be introduced. Characters commonly used in public
signs will also be taught. Course materials are in the
form of handouts containing vocabulary and sentence
patterns in pinyin, Chinese and English. Cultural and
practical information will also be provided in the form
of handouts after each session. (More
